Pan Fried Porterhouse Steak with Sauteed Asparagus

Pan Fried Porterhouse Steak with sautéed Asparagus.

Before I met my husband I mainly ate lean meats such as chicken and turkey. I am so happy I ventured out because not only is Grass-Fed Red meat high in nutrition and omega 3 fatty acids, it’s full of flavor.

I was lazy to grill outside so I decided to fry it on the stovetop. I used a Large Lodge Cast Iron skillet and that helped give the steak a nice flavor. You may also use this pan to grill turkey burgers, hamburger and grilled chicken. It’s a nice change and very versatile.

Marinade the steak in Salt, Pepper, Chopped Garlic and Coconut Aminos. Place steak and all ingredients in container/plastic bag and let marinade for a couple hours.

When you are ready to grill the steak, heat cast Iron skillet on high with coconut oil ( expeller pressed because it takes high heat and doesn’t have the flavor of coconut) Place steak on skillet and let cook on med/high for 3-5 minutes without moving the steak. Once that time is up, turn heat on med/low and let cook another 8-10 minutes on same side. When finished do the same process on the other side. Depending on how you like your streak you could cook it less time. We like ours Medium/Well. (Done but not hard as a rock lol)

Wash and cut ends off of asparagus. Cut up into inch pieces and place in pan with 1tbsp of butter and 1tbsp of coconut oil. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste. You may also add a splach of Balsamic vinegar to give it a kick.

Such a simple meal and small prep work! Enjoy!!! XO
