Hi Christina:)

Happy to help!
How Much Bananas did you give her? If this was her first food it’s important to start off very slow, 1 tbsp for a couple days..you keep increasing if all is normal and her bowel mvmts are good. You also find out if she has any sensitivities this way. Her body is adapting to the change of solid foods. Bananas are a great food to start and is one of the many foods easily digested. I would hold off for a bit until things normalize. Does she have any teeth yet? Are you breastfeeding?

My name is Christina Maple, a patient of Dr. Chris. He talks about you and the kids all the time! Especially with my new venture in motherhood and having tons of questions on healthy living for our little one. I have a five month old, today is her bday, Sydney Ava. I’ve been meaning to contact you several times and am just now getting a breather.

My questions is (one of many to come) … I just started her on puree bananas. She loved them! But since she has not had a bowl movement in three days. Have you experienced this? Her peditrician says not to feed her anymore solids until she has a bowl movement.

Any guidance would be appreciated. Thank you!
